The practice

Accounting should explain the business—not complicate it.

Vanden & Co. combines accounting, tax expertise and strategic advice for entrepreneurs and growing companies. The work is done by named partners, in one Amsterdam practice, with a reporting rhythm designed around the decisions you actually take.

A considered interior of timber, stone and daylight — the material language of the practice.

How the work connects

From raw activity to a decision that can be taken.

Transactions become reporting. Reporting informs tax. Forecasts sit on that structure. Strategy is then a sequence of decisions — not a separate exercise.

Project accounting, entity structure and cash that can survive a long build.

An architect marking a drawing — project work before it becomes a building.

Operators who need weekly numbers that keep rooms, kitchens and labour in view.

A dining room during service — hospitality as it is actually run.

Growing product companies that need forecasting as disciplined as their product.

A calm, well-lit studio workspace with a long workbench and no visual noise.

Stock, channels and margin held in one readable view.

Harten Development · Property & Construction

From fragmented reporting to one clear financial view.

Situation
Harten was running four entities, three reporting formats and a monthly close that arrived too late to influence the next drawdown. Directors could describe each project. They could not describe the group.
Approach
We rebuilt the close around a single group view, aligned tax and reporting calendars, and sat with the board through eighteen months of controlled growth. Project accounting remained local; the pack did not.
Outcome
Monthly reporting now lands inside ten working days. Four entities read as one company. The board uses the pack to decide, not to reconstruct.

The firm

Senior attention. Direct relationships.

Vanden & Co. is an independent Amsterdam practice. Twelve advisers, one office, and a way of working that keeps the partner who knows the company in the conversation.

Eva van Dalen

Managing Partner · Accounting

Eva founded Vanden & Co. in 2008 after a decade in practice with larger firms. She still reviews the reporting for every retained client and holds the relationship with the board.

Thomas de Wit

Partner · Tax

Thomas leads tax advisory. His work sits at the intersection of Dutch compliance and the commercial events that actually change a company’s position — property, hiring, structure and succession.

Mila Verhoeven

Director · Advisory

Mila directs the advisory practice, including fractional CFO retainers. She is the partner most often in the room when a company is changing shape and needs a financial view that can be acted on.
